Enjoying Nature

Recently we brought Grayson out to the Dallas Arboretum. We managed to have a Sunday morning where it was nice and cool, so we packed a cooler with lunch and headed out. Grayson loved it. He enjoyed watching the trees and hearing the birds. We were also able to enjoy the Chihuly artwork, which was a bonus.

Take Me Out To the Ball Game!!!

Well Grayson and I thought and thought about what to get his daddy for Father's Day. We finally came up with the perfect gift of father/son time enjoying America's favorite passtime, baseball! We also got him some other fun little things, but this was by far the best. Any of you who know Brandon, know he's a huge Rangers fan and he's been going to games since he was a kid.To be able to spend time doing something he loves with his little guy was extra special. It was Grayson's first Rangers game, and it was heartwarming to hear all of the Rangers volunteers wishing B a Happy Fathers Day as he proudly carried Grayson through the ballpark. Grayson was the perfect fan. He loved the people watching, and had a friendly smile for all of the other fans. The weather could not have been better with mid 80s in the middle of June. Who would have thunk?!  We enjoyed lunch, and a nap for G, in the Cuervo Club before going to our seats. Last but not least, the Rangers won!!!! I think it was an awesome first Rangers game for G, and an unforgettable first Father's Day for B!

I'm A Big Kid Now

Okay, so we have gone back and forth on switching Grayson to his big boy car seat. I was hesitant, as I am in denial that he is growing up. He is approx. 29 inches long and his bucket would hold him up to 30 inches long, also up to 30 lbs., but no danger in reaching that number anytime soon. :) It's not JUST that I'm in denial, but also I had concerns about going to restaurants and having to put him in a highchair or going to the grocery store and having to sit him in the shopping cart without him falling over and injuring himself.
He's doing GREAT sitting on his own, but it's a whole new ball game when you add movement in a shopping cart to the equation.

I did not have the guts to experiment using the shopping cart cover on my own, so we waited until this weekend. Grayson looked so tiny sitting in the shopping cart, but he loved it. He enjoys people watching so much, this was like a whole new world for him. So, sadly for Mommy, we are saying goodbye to the bucket (not that I'll miss carrying that thing) and hello to big boy Britax.

6 Month Photo Shoot

We recently had family pictures and G's 6 month pictures taken. I have to say, they went really well. We love our photographer, Nicole. She is so great with Grayson, and is happy to accomodate any ideas we might have for photos as well. Thank you Nicole and Raspberry Rain Images!!!

Splish Splash!!

We recently got Grayson a little splash pool, and then the rain began. We were finally able to use the little pool this morning. After he aclimated to the cool water he really enjoyed splashing around!!!

I Love School!!

Grayson love his daycare, and adores Aunt Linnie. She is truely a part of our family. We love that she sends us sweet videos and pictures like these throughout the day so we can enjoy watching G interact with the kids at school. I think they might like him just a little bit. ;)

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have Our 1st Tooth!

Grayson has been drooling for about 2 1/2 weeks and we've been thinking he would be getting a tooth anyday. Well 2 days ago I was routing around to see if I could feel anything, and low and behold I found a tooth. It is on the bottom right hand side. He has not been fussy at all, which is a huge blessing. I guess the egg in the Mason jar wivestale works!!!

Story Time With Daddy

Grayson loves to have us read to him. He has a couple of favorite books, which are: 5 Little Monkeys, and It's Bedtime. G loves to have Daddy read to him because he does silly voices. He is noticing high and low pitched sounds and any sound that Daddy makes out of the ordinary makes our little giggle box laugh.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!!!!!!!

Grayson turned 6 months old on May 22nd! It's unreal how time has flown! He is rolling all over the place, babbling, giggling, eating baby food, and sitting up with a little support. He adores Zoey and Ruger, and thinks they are the funniest things he's ever seen!
He is enjoying daycare so much. All of the "big kids" love him. They love to sing and dance for him, and I think the fact that he giggles at them makes them feel super special. His best buddy at school is Madeline. She is just about 1 1/2 weeks younger than he is. They love to sit in their Bumbos and watch the big kids, play with their rings, and just giggle and smile at one another. Life for this little guy could not be better!

Stats: 27 3/4 inches long
   16 lbs. 15 oz.

Strollin, Strollin, Strollin

Grayson has the best Mimi in the world!!! She sent him a new "big boy" stroller to enjoy. He originally had a Snap-N-Go, which we love, but his only view of the world when riding in it was of Mommy or Daddy when we were pushing him. He LOVES his new stroller and is so observant when we go for walks. It's like we opened a whole new world for him!!! Thank you Mimi!!!

You Mean There Is More To Life Than Formula?

Grayson started eating baby food at about 5 1/2 months. Our very first vegetable we tried was peas, which he didn't seem to mind. He wanted to hate them, but never has had a problem polishing the containers off! His favorites so far seem to be sweet potatoes, bananas, and pears. He does such a great job, and is a good eater. We have not found a food he will not eat so far.

Peas

Green Beans
